Should You Buy Wedding Insurance?
If you are planning a wedding, wedding insurance could be an important factor to consider.
Transcript
The average wedding costs around $27,000, not including the honeymoon. But what if your outdoor ceremony gets rained out, or the best man misses his flight, or the caterer goes under?
Many couples now buy wedding insurance, which usually only costs a few hundred dollars. Rescheduling costs are often covered if the ceremony is cancelled because of extreme weather or serious illness of a wedding party member.
Policies vary widely, so read the fine print and pay attention to deductibles, maximum coverage limits, exclusions and deadlines for purchasing certain options. And make sure all your wedding suppliers maintain their own liability insurance as well.
Bottom line: If you're planning an expensive wedding, wedding insurance can bring real peace of mind.
